  • BRUCE & CO SUCCESS CONTINUES AS ANOTHER GUESTHOUSE IS SOLD!

  • Bruce and Co are delighted to announce the completion on the sale of Inglestone House Guesthouse in the town of Kelso on the Scottish Borders.

The business was under our client’s careful ownership for 11 years, following an extensive renovation allowing the business to be offered in walk in condition, they put the guesthouse to the market in order to focus on other business interests.

Inglestone House Guesthouse enjoyed a good amount of interest throughout its time on the market, following five viewings by different interested parties an offer was accepted in December 2013, with the sale completing 3rd March 2014.

The business proved popular due to its location directly opposite Kelso Abbey on Kelso’s plush Abbey Row, which benefits from attracting tourists all year round due to its abundance of historical landmarks on offer.

The vendors, Mr and Mrs Hay commented on the service received from Bruce and Co “We just wanted to thank you and your team for keeping us informed and updated on our progress throughout the time we had our guesthouse advertised with Bruce & Co, and after achieving a sale all the best and many thanks, I hope to be dealing again with you in future”

  • SOLD: KING BOAR CATERING SELLS TO FIRST TIME BUYER

  • King Boar Catering has been sold by Bruce & Co after coming on the market in October 2013, the sale has successfully completed.

Our client, Mr Von-Kynhoff, built up the catering business since 1976 expanding through purchasing a few smaller outside catering companies and focusing on events and functions. He now plans to retire as he has spent the last 30 years working every summer and commented “I was pleased with the overall service received from Bruce & Co, I appreciate that when the right interested party came along you ensured the sale progressed smoothly and I thank you for this. I would recommend your services to any others selling a business and I would use you again – although I have no plans to!”

Bruce & Co were able to find a suitable applicant with the right background and experience; he viewed the business twice and shadowed our client whilst he was awaiting finance approval. Mr Gow was a first time buyer with experience in the catering sector; he commented “I thought you handled the sale very well, including keeping in constant communication with me without feeling pressured throughout the delay experienced wit the finance approval. All in all the service received from Bruce & Co was very good.

  • THE CREES INN

  • Bruce & Co are delighted to introduce The Crees Inn to the market. Situated in the Tayside village of Abernethy, it provides an excellent base for visitors to Perthshire and central Scotland.

The Crees Inn has been under our client’s careful ownership for over 19 years, having been established since the early 1900’s; it has been reluctantly offered to the market due to ill health. The business has undergone substantial renovations in recent years to modernise and enhance the property to a standard which today’s travellers expect. With 3 comfortable letting rooms offered on a bed and breakfast basis, this is an excellent opportunity to purchase a well established business which has earned a truly enviable reputation for offering locally produced food and drinks in a warm and welcoming environment.

Situated in the quaint village of Abernethy, positioned close to the River Earn, the historic village offers plenty of local amenities. The city of Perth lies approximately 7 miles away, and with Edinburgh and Glasgow within an hours drive away the business is situated in an excellent location for people visiting this scenic area of Scotland.

The Crees Inn occupies an impressive detached B-listed building, of stone appearance, it was converted from a farm in the middle of the 18th century when much of the stone material used to build was retrieved from the ruins of The Culdee Monastery. The building is well presented externally and in keeping with the traditional style and period of other neighbouring properties.

The business also includes expansive owners accommodation, with potential to increase the number of letting rooms if desired. Bruce and Co are pleased to be offering The Crees Inn to the market at £499,995 for the freehold interest, if you are interested in this property please contact our offices on 0844 7011 811
